Talent optimization

Learn how to assemble high-performing teams essential to reaching your business goals.

What is talent optimization?

It is a four-part discipline that details what’s required for aligning your business strategy and your talent strategy so you can achieve your desired business results.  Most businesses have some form of a business strategy. Many times, this strategy reads out in technical or functional terms, and the people element is missing or disconnected.  At the end of the day, people drive business forward, so we should not forget our people strategy.

At the core of talent optimization is the collection, analysis, and application of people data, and applying at all levels inside of an organization!

We will talk about the discipline of talent optimization, assess where our organizations are, and discuss strategies to improve!

When I was leader building and turning around teams, the hardest and most important thing to figure out was, first, which people to hire, and second, how to inspire them to their greatest levels of performance and happiness.  When my results with the people stuff weren’t pretty (trust me, it was ugly sometimes), I often wondered, “Was it me or was it them?  Were they dead when I hired them or did I kill them? ”

Just when I thought I didn’t want to be a leader anymore… talent optimization reenergized me and gave me a whole new perspective!  We didn’t call it talent optimization at the time, but it was the science behind aligning business strategy to the talent you need to drive those results.  Think of it like moneyball…for business!

I am passionate about sharing this discipline and its people insights with other leaders, and I love seeing the small changes that lead to big results!

What our attendees had to say

"

This is the first session I’ve been to in Kansas City where I really learned useful ways to think about organizational development. I loved the measures of the success at each level of talent optimization; it gave me ways to talk with my boss about what we should do next to support our company.
